This week, Aesthetx was honored to be able to give back to our community in a BIG way. As COVID has forced many medically fragile children to isolate in their homes, we wanted to bring them a little holiday cheer.
So we partnered with a truly remarkable organization called Coastal Kids Home Care to sponsor their Winter Wishes Program, donating $10,000 and other goodies to families so they can cover the essentials and more this holiday season.
Coastal Kids’ main mission is to improve the quality of life for children living with serious illness by providing skilled health care in their own homes.
To further our gift to the Winter Wishes Program, the children received plush polar bears and gift cards, while their caregivers received special Aesthetx gift bags chocked full of self-care goodies.
To commemorate the donation, Aesthetx’s very own Dr. R. Laurence Berkowitz was honored to meet one of the families receiving care from Coastal Kids – the Elliots and their youngest member Isla Elliot. Isla was born with CHARGE Syndrome, which impacts her ability to see, hear, eat and breathe safely. She spent her first year of life in the hospital dependent on oxygen, a ventilator, continuous feeds, and was extra vulnerable to infection. But thanks to Coastal Kids providing nurses like Angelina, Isla can be home with her family and still receive the life saving care she needs.
“Being able to bring medically fragile children like Isla and others some holiday cheer is truly our honor,” said Dr. Kamakshi R. Zeidler, plastic surgeon and Managing Partner at Aesthetx.
“This year more than ever we are committed to our community. It gives us great joy to lighten the burden for these very special families in need. We are all in this together.”
