The Story Behind BRA Day
It’s estimated that 266,120 women in the United States alone will be diagnosed with invasive breast cancer by the end of 2018. Of those who undergo mastectomies, only a small percentage of women are fully informed about their options for breast reconstruction prior to surgery.
Breast reconstruction is a transformative procedure that is often the final step in helping women move on after cancer. Following a mastectomy, many find it difficult to adjust to the permanent physical changes. With breast reconstruction surgery, women can feel whole again – both emotionally and physically.
BRA Day was started to empower women with information about post-mastectomy breast reconstruction, and to celebrate their resilience in the face of breast cancer.
We hope to see all of you at BRA Day 2018! Please feel free to bring along friends and family and make sure to purchase your tickets online!
