Beyond the confines of Aesthetx, our doctors often embark on journeys around the world, eagerly accepting invitations to lecture and participate at prestigious international conferences and meetings. Most recently, Dr. Amelia K. Hausauer travelled to London and Dr. Kamakshi R. Zeidler travelled to Stockholm, both to take on the role of speakers and immerse themselves in the latest advancements and techniques in aesthetic medicine.
Dr. H in London at the Season Aesthetic Conference
Dr. Hausauer jumped across the pond to lecture at the Season Aesthetic Conference located at King’s College, one of the most prominent universities in the heart of London. The meeting kicked off with a full day in the anatomy laboratory (originally built in the seventeenth century), instructing physicians on advanced injectable and thread techniques. Drying days two and three, Dr. H chaired several sessions along with faculty from all over the world.
“This year the meeting focused on new technologies and the expansion of regenerative medicine, including some innovative biotech companies that I work closely with,” she comments. “We are starting to reconceptualize focus more and more on the body’s phenomenal ability to heal itself and how we might take advantage of these complex systems to live longer, healthier, more beautifully. Participating in a meeting where minds from across the globe can help debate, advise and instruct future therapies is truly a privilege and exciting,” Dr. Hausauer explains.
Dr. Z in Stockholm at the Beauty Through Science Meeting
“Beauty Through Science is my favorite meeting of the year, held in the winter in New York and in the summer in Stockholm – one of my favorite cities in the world. I have been honored to be part of the teaching faculty for over five years and love sharing the techniques and pearls with surgeons from around the world. This year I spoke about the nuance of fat transfer to the face and my signature Abdominoplasty. I also got to sneak to Uppsala where Galderma, the makers of the Restylane Family of Fillers, makes all their products. The behind-the-scenes technology and robotic factory were impressive, and I was so excited to see what will be coming to the U.S. soon. A few strategic business meetings about a new top-secret project and one on a boat through the beautiful archipelago matched the beauty of scoping out the city on a classic Swedish bike. The highlight was seeing Stockholm City Hall where the Nobel Prizes are awarded. Can’t wait for next year!” Dr. Zeidler shares.
