One key takeaway from the interview was Dr. Zeidler’s excitement for a new breast implant coming soon to the United States, designed by a Costa Rica-based Establishment Labs. She shared that their Motiva breast implant line is coming to the market with technology designed from a women’s health perspective. The future of their integrated sensor technology also has tremendous possible applications. “Don’t think of a new breast implant. Think of an iPhone. The sensor could have the capabilities of monitoring your heart rate and temperature over time,” Dr. Zeidler explained. As the founding member of Establishment Labs’ FemTech Advisory Board, Dr. Zeidler travelled to Costa Rica to speak at the grand opening of their innovation center. “I look forward to working with the company as they prepare for the US launch of their implants, and with the research and development team to develop novel products that meet the needs of the modern woman looking for high tech and less invasive solutions for breast aesthetics,” she shares.

Dr. Z also shared her excitement about new technology from Silicon Valley-based company, TurnBio, where they’re working with epigenetic reprogramming. “It’s about being able to look at aging as a factor and not just help people look younger, but actually feel younger. It’s early, but the idea is can we reprogram your cells to think and actually act younger.” How exciting would it be to one day have an injectable treatment that reverses the greying of the hair?
