With summer in full swing, many of us are spending more time in our bathing suits and are noticing new bulges on our bodies that may have not been there before. Hear from industry experts at Aesthetx, Dr. Zeidler and Dr. Hausauer, about some of the latest ways to eliminate a common area of stubborn fat located above the thigh and below the buttocks, frequently referred to as the banana roll. CoolSculpting, Kybella, and Liposuction are some of the most popular options for trimming these areas.
CoolSculpting and Kybella
CoolSculpting is a cutting-edge treatment with no downtime. It freezes fat cells, termed adipocytes, and transports them safely out of your body. The procedure is non-invasive, painless and permanent! Kybella is another non-surgical option that gets rid of adipocytes for good. Over several treatment sessions, this injection therapy works to dissolve fat cells and help tighten the overlying skin. There is swelling after each session, so it’s not entirely downtime free but can be performed safely and quickly in the office. Note, Kybella is FDA approved to permanently remove fat under the chin but can be used off-label for other unwanted bulges.
Liposuction
Liposuction is considered the most popular surgical choice. It can target unwanted pockets of fat and through the insertion of thin tubes, work to gently remove these stubborn cells.
All three of these treatments are discussed in further detail in the article, “Peeling Away Those Banana Rolls Just in Time For Summer” from LVBX Magazine.
