Liposuction is a surgical procedure that removes excess fat deposits from specific areas of the body, contouring and enhancing the body's shape and appearance.
How Does Liposuction Work?
Your liposuction will be performed in the best conditions. This surgery is an outpatient procedure and will be performed in a fully-accredited surgical facility under general or epidural anesthesia from a board-certified anesthesiologist. First, small incisions or "poke holes" will be made in the target area to allow the suction devices to access the fat. The incisions are small enough to be inconspicuous when they heal.
Dr. Zeidler uses the tumescent liposuction technique, where a saline solution containing various medications is pumped into the treatment area in order to prepare the fat for removal, decrease bleeding, and to deliver a dose of pain medication to help with recovery. A small tube called a cannula will then be inserted through these incisions and gently moved back and forth in a careful pattern to remove fat.
