Silicon Valley Born—Real Women Tested

Contrary to popular opinion, being overweight is not the only determinant of cellulite. In fact, weight can have little to do with the skin dimpling many women struggle with. According to scientific research, cellulite is mainly the result of hormones. Nearly all women have some form of cellulite after puberty, occurring in a staggering number of women, despite their body shape and size. This cosmetic concern tends to appear mainly on the buttocks and thighs. Thankfully, Avéli™ treats cellulite in both of these trouble spots.

What is Cellulite?

Cellulite is a depression of various shapes visible on the skin surface, typically on the buttocks or thighs. The major underlying cause is fibrous bands that tether to the underlying skin structures, also known as septa. These complex thickenings of fibrous tissue are part of the cellulite structure, like rigid, narrow bands pulling the skin downward and creating the typical effect of dimples on the skin’s surface. Some septa are good, but others shrink or stiffen, causing visible and embarrassing cellulite. But don’t think cellulite is your fault or a loss of skin elasticity or poor skin quality. And don’t think of it as fat.

How Does Avéli™ Work?

Avéli™ is the first cellulite treatment that allows us to identify individual septa, then release each one allowing for a smoother skin surface. As a result, she will help you eliminate cellulite on your thighs and buttocks caused by cellulite dimples in a single session with real-time confirmation. In addition, if you have skin laxity or focal fat deposits, she will review all available options. A typical treatment session takes about an hour and a half, depending on the severity of the cellulite.

The Avéli™ Process

Avéli™ is a minimally invasive treatment that employs a handheld device. Avéli™ targets and cuts connective tissue bands below the skin responsible for cellulite dimples during each session. The treatment starts with the area marked. Then, a local lidocaine injection will numb the target skin. Once the treatment site is numb, we will insert the Avéli™ handpiece (a small wand with a retractable blade) under the skin. This physically cuts the septa bands individually, providing precise results for pleasing skin smoothness. Lastly, we will cover the treatment area with an absorbent dressing, cushioned pads, and tight compression legging to minimize swelling and bruising. Patients can return to normal activities after the treatment. Still, they should avoid vigorous lower body exercise, like jogging or running, for ten days to two weeks.

What is Avéli™?

Avéli™ is the first and only cellulite treatment to identify and resolve cellulite-causing septa on the buttocks and thighs with real-time release confirmation in one in-office session. Avéli™ is a minimally invasive therapy performed at Aesthetx using local anesthesia for meaningful, long-lasting results.

How can I be sure Avéli™ is right for me?

If you’re looking for cellulite dimple reduction after only one minimally invasive in-office treatment session, Avéli™ could be an ideal option.

Does Avéli™ treat cellulite dimples only?

Avéli™ is a treatment to address the septa bands that cause cellulite dimples. However, it is not a solution for other concerns often seen alongside cellulite, like pockets of fat cells or skin laxity.

Will I need more than one session?

Avéli™ is a single, in-office treatment. In one session, we can treat the targeted cellulite dimples on your buttocks cheeks and thighs for long-term benefits.

How long does an Avéli™ session take?

A typical Avéli™ appointment takes approximately one hour, including a local anesthetic and the treatment itself. However, the treatment duration will vary depending on your aesthetic goals and our tailored approach for cosmetic concerns.

What about downtime?

There is little to no recovery time after Avéli™ treatments. In a clinical study, most patients returned to normal activities within two days.

What side effects can I expect after Avéli™?

A clinical study reported the most common side effects were mild discomfort within the first 24 hours and some tenderness and bruising. These typically resolve within 30 days. Slight firmness, which is typically not painful, resolves within two months.

How soon will I see improvement with my cellulite?

Avéli™ results should be evident once your swelling and bruising subside. A month after your procedure, you should start noticing the full effects.

To allow the treated area to heal, we recommend avoiding any strenuous workouts or activities for several days afterward. We will provide you with post-treatment care recommendations to follow at home.

How long will my results last?
